Lake Cooley
Lake Cooley is a 330-acre reservoir on Jordan Creek with a capacity of 1.7 billion gallons. It feeds the North Tyger River, located upstream of the North Tyger Reservoir near Highway 29 in Wellford, SC. The lake is home to Lake Cooley Park at 100 Cooley Dock Road, owned by SJWD and operated by the Spartanburg County Parks Department. The park offers a dual-access boat ramp, a handicap-accessible dock and kayak launch, a fishing pier, a playground, restrooms, and parking for about 50 vehicles and trailers.
Lake Lyman
Lyman Lake is a 350-acre reservoir on the Middle Tyger River with a capacity of 1.4 billion gallons, serving as the primary water source for SJWD. Lyman Lake Park, located at 200 Lyman Lodge Road, offers a public fishing pier, a handicap-accessible dual-access boat ramp, and parking for about 50 vehicles and trailers. The park also features the Lyman Lake Lodge, available for public rental. For booking, contact SJWD customer service at 864-439-4423.
Lake Cunningham
Lake Cunningham may be smaller than some of CPW’s other lakes, but it’s just as beautiful. Covering approximately 200 acres, the lake is part of CPW’s drinking water resources, with the treatment plant located right on site. CPW works to keep Lake Cunningham pristine, making it a great spot for fishing, boating, and enjoying nature.
The park is open sunrise to sunset year-round, except on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day. For assistance, the lake warden’s office at Lake Robinson is open Tuesday through Saturday, 8:00 am – 4:45 pm, with a lunch break from 12:00 – 1:00 pm.
Lake Robinson
Lake Robinson is just northwest of Greer. Lake Robinson is an 800-acre recreational lake owned by Greer CPW. Fed by the South Tyger River, it’s perfect for boating, fishing, kayaking, and paddleboarding. The lake features a boat ramp, three fishing piers, and rentable event sites. Known as a “small jewel” by the Greenville News, Lake Robinson combines natural beauty with endless outdoor fun.
